Compare Mowers
Prices are the recommended retail prices published by each manufacturer’s Australian site, in AUD, as read on the date shown on each model’s page; dealers set the final price.
A side-by-side reference of each model's stated specifications. MowerFacts doesn’t give opinions: where a published, spec-derived rule can separate machines we mark a Data Pick and show the rule; here, read the values and decide what fits your needs.
Best suited for
What each model is built for, from its duty class and key specs. This is a neutral reference — MowerFacts does not rank one model above another.
- Husqvarna P 525DX — prosumer: larger home properties and light acreage
- John Deere X730 Signature Series Lawn Tractor — prosumer: larger home properties and light acreage; 48-inch deck; gas powered
What’s different? The 4 differences that matter most, from the published figures.
- P 525DX has a Hydrostatic transmission; X730 Signature Series Lawn Tractor has a K90 hydrostatic integrated with transaxle transmission. The transmission grade tracks duty rating and speed. Grade names are each maker's own and are not comparable across brands.
- P 525DX runs on Diesel; X730 Signature Series Lawn Tractor runs on Gasoline. Fuel type sets what you buy and store; it is not a measure of power.
- P 525DX has a published top speed of 11.8 mph; X730 Signature Series Lawn Tractor has a published top speed of 8.5 mph, a 3.3 mph difference. Top speed is the maker's maximum in transport. Mowing speed is lower and depends on grass, terrain and the deck.
- P 525DX has a 1,123 cc (68.5 ci) engine; X730 Signature Series Lawn Tractor has a 745 cc (45.5 ci) engine, a 378 cc difference. Displacement is the engine's size, not its output. A larger engine is not necessarily a more powerful one.
